The 29-year old, who is Japan's top-selling singer with 28 No 1 hits and nearly 50 millin albums sold, wrote in her blog that left ear ''doesn't work anymore'' and that it was inoperable.

Super shocked when i was reading Today newspaper the big heading saying '' Ayumi deaf in left ear''. saw ayumi news that she had become comepletely deaf in her left year. but she would continue on with her career for her fans, even if it meant losing her hearing in her right ear as well . I like her song veri much as she is veri powerful in her vocal and a veri committed to her career and although she deaf in left year. she also said that '' I won't stop. I won't make excuses. As a professional, i would like to deliver the best performance for everyone.''

Ayumi is believed to be suffering from tinnitus- a ringing in the ear that can be caused by constant exposure to sound. ''Nevertheless, i would continue as a singer.''

Hamsaki released her ninth album, Guilty, on Jan 1. She is also due to launch tour on April 5 to mark her 10th anniversary as a performer. Feel so sad for her!
